There is something to be said about creating from true inspiration. This editorial was birthed from wanting to photograph a specific style. I wanted to photograph a bride that was versatile in her style and work with some amazing vendors in the industry. I started out by trying to contact a model and Harriette was a God sent. She was amazing to photograph. She is a wife, mom, model, and teacher. She was the perfect model. I knew of some other artists for hair and make up that came through and wanted to be a part of the project. Camille was so great with coming up with a makeup look and Tiria worked great with Harriet natural hair to do a non traditional bridal style. Oak Florals La provided some amazing florals. What really set this session apart for me was collaborating with bridal stylist Dara Adams with Veil By Dara Adams, who is now a fashion editor at Black Bride 1998. Dara flew in from New York and provided the looks for the model and styled them beautifully. It was a photographer's dream to see all of these vendors come together to grate from a place of passion. We made some amazing work of art with the intention to submit for publication, but we never imagined a cover. It was great for everyone to be recognized for their work.
